I don’t normally do this, but I want to share a story with you today written by a fellow nurse here on the ship. She does a different job than me, she is out there, sees and meets patients outside of the ship and hears their stories while I am working in the OR. I love this story of one of our patients and the way Amy tells it.

I remember this young girl’s surgery. Despite the amount of patients I have helped anesthetize these last weeks I remember her smile and her name. I have am not often in the VVF surgery room due to organizational reasons. That day I was. And I am ever so grateful to have this glimpse of her life and the privilege to be a part of the team bringing her hope and healing. I am so glad that God broke Amy’s heart for Minette. Every patient has a unique story. Single lives matter.
